If you want to swim somewhere very near to the centre of Darwin, there are a few pools near the CBD, like the Waterpark or the Waterfront.
The waterpark
The Palmerston Water Park is a great play area that offers a whole day of family fun – for kids and adults alike. Slip around on the many different obstacles around the waterpark, and whizz down the slides!

Darwin Waterfront
The Darwin Waterfront is a man-made beach on a saltwater lagoon. It gives you the chance to go for a swim in the sea, without the danger of all the dangerous sea creatures in the Northern Territory!
There are also plenty of places to grab a bite to eat around the lagoon, perfect for finishing off your dip in the ocean with a bite to eat or something cold to drink.

Buley Rockhole is only an hour and a half away from Darwin, and it’s a popular spot for a swim due to its crystal clear waters and lush green surroundings.

These ancient pools are the centre of a busy bushland that is teeming with wildlife and beautiful nature.
There’s a nice combination of deeper plunge pools that you can swim in, or relax in the shallower pools. There’s also a free spa! Position your back underneath the cascading waterfall, and allow the rapids to give you a massage.
Wangi Falls
Around the base of Wangi Falls, there is plenty of room to chill, have a picnic, and sunbathe before or after your swim! Wangi Falls offers a great dose of both nature and culture.
Florence Falls
Florence Falls is surrounded by a dense thicket of green forest. You’ll be able to swim around the pools after exploring the forest around it.
There is a viewing platform nearby that is very easy to get to! Check out the viewing platform to see the three waterfalls cascading downwards into the big pool below. If you want to swim, take the 160 stairs downwards to the bottom, and take a dip!
