The Litchfield National Park in northern Australia is home to breathtaking views and peaceful campsites. A trip here puts you in touch with Australia’s natural beauty.

One of the most popular sights in this vast National Park is Wangi Falls. The stunning 84 m high waterfall cascades over rocks and plummets into the waters below.

Wangi Falls is Litchfield’s number one attraction and is only a 2 hours drive outside of the nearby City of Darwin. There are plenty of easily accessible campgrounds to visit. They’re a dream for anyone who loves to camp out under the stars or a great one-day adventure destination. Wangi Fall’s campsite is also the only one in Litchfield that allows caravans. With their well-kept grounds and hot showers, it’s no surprise that this is the most popular location in the park.

This is the perfect place for weekend activities. You can lay out a blanket and enjoy a picnic in your natural surroundings, or even barbeque on the grills offered by the campsite. Why not go for a  swim in Wangi Fall’s natural pool? Be sure to visit during the dry season between the months of May and October as swimming is prohibited in the wet season.

A hike to the top of the waterfall is not to be missed. The 1.6 km trail is easy-going and offers beautiful scenery along the way.

Wildlife

This park is home to a wealth of wildlife that roams this landscape. From a mighty Kangaroo on the ground to the fascinating fruit bats hanging in the trees.

The true beauty of these falls and its surroundings create a wonderfully immersive experience for all who visit. They combine the comfort of a campsite with the beauty of the outdoors. It’s truly a dream destination for all nature lovers. While Litchfield National Park contains some of the country’s most beautiful sights, there is none quite as well equipped for a visit as the welcoming grounds of Wangi Falls.

Peace is a word that best describes this experience, from the chirping of birds in the sunlight to the continuous sound of water flowing over the rocks as you lay down to sleep, you will be treated to an overwhelming sense of relaxation. This destination provides a golden opportunity to experience the beauty of Australia in the heart of one of the country’s most peaceful parks.
